Auggie has now been to 5 states - 1/10th of the way done. We had a friends trip out to Grand Rapids. It felt so amazing to be able to hug friends again. I'm out of practice taking photos so nothing but babies is well documented anymore. We got to meet Andie for the first time, and I think her and Auggie will be best friends. Harrison is so big! I can't believe Auggie will be that big in no time. We went back to the Chicago suburbs for fathers day the next weekend. There was impromptu meet up (which again is not well documented) centered around Brian and Kat's new house. It's a beautiful house and property and I'm so excited for them. The next day was Father's Day and it was a perfect first one with my Dad. Gus came down and met Auggie for the first time. The next day we had a great afternoon with Mark and Marcie with a picnic lunch. We have a fun parent group that both the babies and parents enjoy - drinks vary depending on age.

A few big things coming to an end and new ones beginning. Chris finished his Associates degree is Software Development, and on the same day as his last class accepted a new job at Thrivent. Starting June 14th he'll be working from home as a Software QA Engineer. It's bittersweet leaving all his friends in the Admissions Department at Lawrence but he hopes to stay in touch. A couple of weekends ago we went down to Arlington Heights and had a great visit with Chris's folks and Bill and Jenni. We were so grateful to be able to see them (Bill was the first person to babysit Chris). Our best friends Jacob and Bayeshan came in from Seattle to visit. It was a wonderful couple of days catching up and introducing them to Auggie. Speaking of Auggie he is growing like a champ, eating a lot and smiling even more. We've done outings to bars and baseball games. It's amazing that today is already his 2 month birthday . . . . . |
