Elyse got her alignment tattoos today, but more importantly she got her dashing cape. The cape is for her to wear during the radiation procedure. She'll get zapped M-F for 22 days - the whole process takes about 15 minutes. Hopefully she will be done before the new school year.

The lab results came back sooner than expected and Elyse is cancer free!!! There is still a lot to figure out with radiation, but we're going to bask in the glow of this good news for a while.
Things began to feel almost back to normal the weeks after Elyse's last chemo. We had a lovely weekend up in Minnesota. Elyse took a family road trip with Justine and Matt down to North Carolina for some family time. Her energy has been coming back and her skin is tan.
The next step in the cancer battle was surgery, and with no surprise Elyse kicked its butt too. The tumor and 8 lymph nodes were removed, as well as her port (which is named Portia, and we were able to keep). The whole thing went exactly as planned, and now we just have to wait on the final lab results. |
These posts chronicle the year 2019 : cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and more love and support that we knew was out there.
